Reasons to Be There

Attending the annual COLLABORATE conference is one of the most talked about experiences each year. The anticipation builds during the months leading up to the event. And, the post-event storytelling and sharing is equally as spirited. Here are some of the things Oracle Applications users are looking to accomplish this year:

Solve a problem.

Everyone is talking about the cloud. But not all organizations are in a position to make a sweeping transition to cloud solutions. Maintaining existing ERP systems is still a reality for many. COLLABORATE 17 offers hundreds of sessions that focus on upgrading or enhancing existing implementations. Plus, you'll be able to meet management from the OracleDigital License Team that supports all customers that continue to invest in on-premises license applications (PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, EBS, etc.).

Plan for the future.

Speaking of cloud, there are more than 400 cloud-related sessions at COLLABORATE 17. Many of these explore how Oracle customers have already extended functionality with cloud solutions or present the key considerations – pros and cons – for helping you plan a move to the cloud. Use the convenient Agenda Builder to browse cloud education sessions and add them to your educational itinerary.

Stay on top of important changes.

Sometimes changes beyond our control require us to learn new ways of working. or example, the new standards for revenue recognition passed by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) present compliance challenges that many companies must address before January 2018. Several COLLABORATE 17 sessions explore this important issue, including the Power Hour – Revenue Recognition – The Times they Are a Changin'.

Turn information into treasure.

Performance data is everywhere, and the ability to interpret and extend that data to propel decision making gives businesses a distinct advantage. More than 100 sessions in the EPM/BI track explore integrated functions covering data, analytics, processes and organizational management. The Hyperion Special Interest Group (SIG) meeting on Monday examines the latest developments in the EPM/Hyperion space, and the EPM/Hyperion Connect Reception on Tuesday evening intensifies your learning with targeted networking.

Gain practical advice.

"Being able to reach out to someone who could help us quickly solve a problem or point us in the right direction with design questions literally saved us hundreds of hours of wasted research and development costs."
- Matt Youmans, Worthington Industries.

Work with more purpose.

We spend a lot of time at work, doing work and thinking about work. Why not do it with more purpose? Energize your work with inspiring words from Jenn Lim, CEO and CHO (Chief Happiness Officer) of Delivering Happiness, during the opening keynote on Monday, April 3.

COLLABORATE 17 takes place April 2-6, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada. There is still time to register to attend.

I hope you'll join the spirited conversations at the event.
