EBS News from Oracle OpenWorld

During OpenWorld, I had the opportunity to speak with Oracle Senior Vice President of Applications Development, Oracle E-Business Suite, Cliff Godwin, in an exclusive Facebook Live interview. For me, this was truly a highlight of the week. For our community of EBS users, the recorded interview presents a lot of important information about many new and exciting announcements, including:

  • A roadmap reflecting the commitment of the EBS team to support the product through at least 2030.
  • The release of EBS 12.2.7 and the expected cadence for future releases.
  • Flexible, subscription-based options for EBS on cloud infrastructure to help pave your path to the cloud. One of the benefits of the cloud infrastructure is the automation that can facilitate manual tasks like cloning and accelerate the speed of overall operations.
  • Hybrid cloud solutions that are advantageous for customers who are adopting cloud solutions along with EBS on-premises. "Hybrid is the new normal."
  • Development efforts underway to enrich EBS Applications with machine learning to enhance the way customers make sense of data.

As Cliff points out at the end of the interview, some of the best learning – for customers and for Oracle – comes from the experiences of real customers who have ventured into new territory to deploy and manage their Oracle solutions. I encourage you to stay connected with the OAUG to hear from your peers about their projects. And if you have a story to share, there is still time to apply to speak at the COLLABORATE 18 – OAUG Forum; the submission deadline is October 20, 2017.
