On Point and On the Calendar

As most of you know, in April, the OAUG, Quest and IOUG hosted the annual COLLABORATE conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. What you might not know, is that the OAUG is hosting a month-long Best of COLLABORATE 17 educational series, presented via webinar and beginning in August.

The Best of COLLABORATE 17 – OAUG Forum is a collection of some of the top conference presentations, determined largely by feedback obtained from the surveys completed by session attendees. Team leaders from the OAUG Education Committee review the overall ratings per session along with the attendance numbers to identify the highest-rated and highest-attended conference sessions. The selected sessions represent and address some of the most critical challenges our users community is facing. The content is on point, and it's on the calendar.

What's coming up in week one?

Closing the Books

The financial close is occurring in almost every organization around the world. It's customary, routine and universal.  However, although the financial close is common and ubiquitous, it's not always easy. The expectations are high; the results must be complete, accurate and on time. And many factors, such as changing regulations and complex r...

“Oracle’s Mark Hurd Builds a Cloud Arsenal.”

The April 26 article on the front page of the USA Today's "Money" section, "Oracle Sharpens Claws in Fight for Cloud Market," is intriguing and compelling for all Oracle Applications users. Thanks to Our Superstars

One of my favorite events at COLLABORATE is the OAUG Meeting of the Members. And a highlight of that event is the presentation of awards to our superstars – individuals and groups that serve the OAUG community with their outstanding contributions throughout the year.

Last evening, I had the great honor to recognize our 2017 winners (scroll to the end for the photo gallery):

Reasons to Be There

Attending the annual COLLABORATE conference is one of the most talked about experiences each year. The anticipation builds during the months leading up to the event. And, the post-event storytelling and sharing is equally as spirited. Here are some of the things Oracle Applications users are looking to accomplish this year:

Solve a problem.

Everyone is talking about the cloud. But not all organizations are in a position to make a sweeping transition to cloud solutions. Maintaining existing ERP systems is still a reality for many. COLLABORATE 17 offers hundreds of sessions that focus on upgrading or enhancing existing implementations. Plus, you'll be able to meet management from the OracleDigital License Team that supports all customers that continue to invest in on-premises license applications (PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, EBS, etc.).

Plan for the future.

Speaking of cloud, there are more than 400 cloud-related sessions at COLLABORATE 17. Many of these explore how Oracle customers have already extended functionality with cloud solutions or present the key considerations – pros and cons – for helping you plan a move to the cloud. Use the convenient Agenda Builder to browse cloud education sessions and add them to your educational itinerary.

Stay on top of important changes.
