The biggest benefit for an organization to become a member of the OAUG is gaining access to the abundance of information and resources available that alone you would not be able to find.  There is so much knowledge available on the OAUG website to assist in understanding features, products, gaps and more.  In addition, there are networking capabilities available that you can’t get through LinkedIn and other sites.  I have made so many great connections through the OAUG membership.  I have contacts around the globe and in many different business areas; marketing, change management, Oracle technology, manufacturing, accounting and the list goes on and on. But best of all, I have established some wonderful lifelong friendships.  That is invaluable both in business and in life!

Attendance at OAUG conferences have been a valuable asset for our university.  Hearing directly from other customers about their experiences, pains and gains have allowed us to take advantage of many tips and tricks that others have developed and shared. There are real benefits to bringing together a large numbers of customers who share common goals and who share ideas.  In addition to hearing from other customers, these conferences also allow to you speak to vendors and see other products that would enhance your systems – and you do this all in one place.

To get the most out of OAUG as users of Oracle Applications, first and foremost be sure to share the link to the OAUG website with your employees. OAUG website gives all members access to the latest OAUG news, OAUG e-Learning opportunities, a database of presentations at different OAUG events and conferences, many white papers and many more. This website also provides opportunities to get more involved as users and share experiences with other users to benefit everyone in this Oracle Application community. Also allocating funds for staff to attend OAUG events and Collaborate conferences will pay off within your organization throughout the year.

The sense of community that the OAUG provides is significant.  The number of companies that utilize Oracle applications is very large.  However, the user group provides a smaller, more intimate experience where people are able to get to know each other and share information across similar interests.

My OAUG involvement has provided me direct access to the Oracle representatives at every level and they assist me in answering my questions long after the conference is over.  They have help me cut through the confusion in Oracle’s support model and provided me future strategies to consider for my company’s solution.
