[OAUGNetDBA]-Re: Migration

If your database is large, then the time to Export/Import can be
prohibitive (there are ways to shorten this, and has been the subject of
various emails in this list a while ago).

As an alternative to export/import, you could look at moving up to 10g
and using the using the new feature that allows Transportable
Tablespaces in 10g to move tablespaces across platforms. Have a look at
Note:371556.1 - How move tablespaces across platforms using
Transportable Tablespaces with RMAN.

We migrated from Solaris with database 9.2.0.6 and Application 11.5.10.2
(32 bit) to Linux Redhat 4 with database 9.2.0.7 (64 bit) and Oracle
Applications 11.5.10.2 (32-bit) last month. Everything is running fine.

We used the Export/Import process for the database and partial cloning
for the application. Also followed the following article along with
many
others:

Configuration

We just went live on Red Hat Linux AS 4.0 update 3 about 3 weeks ago.
Prior to the migration, we were on AIX with Oracle apps 11.5.10+cu1 and
rdbms 9.2.0.7. So far, everything is good.

I used two documents primarily. Note #238276.1 Migrating to Linux with
Oracle Applications Release 11i and 230627.1 Export/Import Process for
Oracle Applications 11i Database. Of course, both notes led off to many
others....not surprising. Overall, it is pretty well documented.

Hi,
We are planning to migrate Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.9/DB 9.2.4 to
RED Hat AS.
Does any one did such kind of migration in past?
If yes, can please share your experience.
Thanks
