[OAUGNet]-Re: Subject: [OAUGNet]-BOM Question

One way I have seen this done is to define a new Unit of Measure. For
example, if you issue components in 1/1000ths of pounds, you can define a
unit of measure that is 1/1000th of a pound, and a conversion to the base
unit. Then when you create the bill, you say you want 1 1/1000th of a
pound. Oracle will do the conversions for you. This method was used to get
around the inaccuracy problem Oracle has with using small decimal values on
bills.

Hi

I think you get the way. CST produces large quantities
of FG. They want to define a BOM for a batch of 1000
FG instead of 1 FG.

For 1 FG all component quantities became too small
(o,oooooooo.....) and this is not making sense for
them.

I know that other ERP´s use an addicional field to
help to define this kind of BOM called Standard Lot
Size. Oracle use this fiel to help lead time and cost calculations.
