2007 OAUG President Jan Wagner
One of the goals of the OAUG is to enhance the capabilities of real Oracle users in their day-to-day use and management of Oracle Applications. As the family of Oracle Applications has grown through acquisition over the last few years, the OAUG membership has grown and become more diverse. And, the need for more and varied educational offerings has grown, too.
In response to this increased demand, the OAUG has recently expanded its schedule and list of eLearning course offerings to bring targeted training and networking opportunities to even more people. OAUG eLearning is free to members, and we encourage you to take advantage of this valuable membership benefit.

OAUG Enhancement Requests Accepted in Fusion Development
Last year, the OAUG expanded its Enhancement Request System (ERS) to include feature requests for Oracle Fusion. This year, the OAUG is pleased to announce that Oracle has distributed the results of last summer’s ERS voting and endorsed immediate use of the OAUG’s ERS for the submission of requests for E-Business Suite, Siebel, Oracle Retail, and PeopleSoft for the 2007 voting cycle.
Of the 287 top-ranked enhancement requests from 2006, Oracle initially reports that 79 percent of the requests were accepted in Fusion, either in 1.0 or a subsequent release. The remaining requests either require additional information or were determined to be out of scope. A summary of the 2006 ERS voting results (MS Excel file) is available to OAUG members.
Oracle’s formal responses will be loaded back into the ERS this summer. More news on Oracle’s support on the ERS will be available at the next IOUC meeting in June.

OAUG Members Invited to Participate in Industry Surveys
HR Technologies Usage and Sourcing
HR or IT executives and managers are invited to participate in an important survey focused on HR technologies and service delivery approaches and metrics. The survey is designed to provide organizations with important data to plan, justify and execute HR technology and outsourcing initiatives. The results of the survey will be reviewed at Oracle Openworld San Francisco 2007. You may complete the survey online until July 9, 2007.
ERP Implementation
Was ERP implementation tough for your organization? Or was it an easy and painless process? Would you like to see how your organization’s ERP implementation stacked up to other Oracle implementations and learn best practices for the next big implementation?
Achieving Success Through Adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning is a Web-based formal study that examines the correlation between success in ERP and the focus of ERP Implementations. Members of the OAUG are invited to learn more and complete a short online survey to participate in this ERP implementation study and receive a summary of the research findings. The survey will be available until July 15, 2007.
Siebel Web Series Session Recordings Now Available
The OAUG is committed to enhancing the capabilities of Siebel and Oracle CRM users in their day-to-day use and management of the growing family of Oracle Applications. In keeping with this commitment, the OAUG and Oracle recently offered free educational and training sessions to the Siebel community via the Siebel Web Series. These online sessions were conducted by Oracle and OAUG partners. Series topics included Siebel 8.0 Upgrading Training, Siebel CRM On Demand for PeopleSoft ERP Users and Best Practices for Performance and Scalability. Complete recordings of these sessions are now available on the OAUG Web site. Be sure to check the OAUG Web site often for upcoming Siebel educational offerings.

Podcasts are available for download for five Oracle Applications product lines — Siebel, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards World and E-Business Suite. The podcasts will be available until June 2007.
Oracle Seeks Participants on Business Intelligence Customer Advisory Board

Demystifying Fusion: Featured During OAUG Community Thursdays
Coming this summer, the OAUG’s Community Thursdays eLearning schedule will include presentations on Oracle Fusion. The sessions will cover four topics: WebCenter; Oracle Design Patterns; Business Process Analysis (BPA); and JDeveloper for Oracle Applications.
A series of Fusion eLearning sessions have been scheduled, beginning in June and running through September 2007. Space is limited and registration is required. So, check the full calendar and make your reservation now.

Demand for OAUG eLearning sessions has grown such that the OAUG is now pleased to announce an additional day of eLearning sessions every week! The ORUG Board of Directors made the decision to combine all the special interest groups (SIGs) into two categories, one for technical information and the other for functional information. Please check the ORUG Web site for frequent updates. Below is the current meeting schedule:

Starting in January 2007 through July, the Oracle Retail Functional SIG calls will highlight versions 11 and 12. There are a number of customers who are in the process of upgrading to version 11 or 12 and many more are considering an upgrade. All are invited to attend the calls, specially invite retailers working with version 11 or 12 in testing or production to share their experiences.
