Oracle Introduces New Manufacturing Execution System for Discrete Manufacturing

Oracle recently announced the availability of Oracle Manufacturing Execution System for Discrete Manufacturing (Oracle MES for Discrete Manufacturing), a new application that enables manufacturers to deploy Oracle Applications directly on the shop floor without complex and costly integrations with third-party manufacturing execution solutions. Part of the Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12, this latest manufacturing offering gives companies with low-to-medium complexity environments increased shop floor visibility, and the ability to reduce manual activities and lower the total cost of ownership. Oracle Communications Receives “Very Strong” Rating in Leading Analyst Firm’s Business Support System Market Report

Oracle recently announced that the company received a “Very Strong” rating in Gartner’s Dataquest Insight: BSS Market Overview and Strategic Scorecard for Vendors, 2007.1. Nine vendors were evaluated for Gartner’s report. The Gartner rating system evaluates BSS vendors on the scope of their product, market understanding, offering strategy, geographic strategy, sales strategy, market responsiveness and track record, as well as overall viability. For the communications industry, Oracle maintains a comprehensive business support system (BSS) offering, which includes Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management and Oracle’s Siebel Customer Relationship Management applications. Contracts SIG Expands to Include PeopleSoft Contracts Users

The Contracts SIG, which was formed in 2004 to focus on Oracle E-Business Suite modules such as Contracts Core, Subscription Contracts, Project Contracts, Lease Contracts, Rights Contracts, Sales Contracts, Service Contracts, Procurement Contracts and Contracts Intelligence modules, has recently expanded to include PeopleSoft Contracts users. The SIG charter has been revised to include Oracle and PeopleSoft modules that address the entire quote-to-renewal business flow of an organization. Kimberly Greene with Cerner Corporation, a user of the PeopleSoft Contacts modules, has joined the leadership team as co-chair of the newly expanded SIG.
