2007 OAUG President Jan Wagner
Hello and happy New Year! I am extremely pleased and proud to serve the OAUG as its president in 2007. This year is already off to an exciting start, as the OAUG is gearing up for several exciting events and initiatives.
The 2007 OAUG Board of Directors will be meeting the week of January 22, 2007, in Redwood Shores, California, to take a strategic look at the upcoming year while identifying ways to grow the OAUG community and enhance the many benefits of OAUG membership. In addition, members of the OAUG Board will also be meeting face to face with key Oracle executives at Oracle headquarters to discuss product strategy and strategic business issues of interest to OAUG members worldwide. We will certainly keep you posted on the outcome of these meetings in upcoming issues of OAUG eNews and on the OAUG Web site.
I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage you to register today for COLLABORATE 07: Oracle Applications and Technology Forum for the Oracle Community, April 15-19, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Product Demos Now Available
In October 2006, Oracle provided a series of recorded product demonstrations highlighting E-Business Suite R12 (EBS R12) products to user group members who enrolled in the demo program (PDF file).
In response to requests from the user group community, Oracle is making the recorded demonstrations available to all OAUG members. Details and instructions on how to access the demonstrations are available on the OAUG Web site.
Oracle Announces Merchandising Solution for Mid-Market Retailers
Oracle recently announced Oracle Retail Merchandising Standard Edition (SE), a highly scalable merchandising solution that helps lower the cost of entry and speed the time to benefit for retailers of all sizes. Oracle’s Jesper Andersen Addresses Questions Regarding Fusion
Oracle’s Jesper Andersen, Senior Vice President, Applications Strategy, attended the International Oracle User Council (IOUC) Fusion Council session held during Oracle OpenWorld 2006 and answered a number of pre-submitted questions. Andersen started his response by underlying the importance of user groups and, more specifically, the Product Development Committee of the IOUC. OAUG Accounts Receivable SIG Renamed
The OAUG Accounts Receivable SIG recently expanded their focus to include Oracle Credit Management and Advanced Collections. As a result, the SIG has been renamed the OAUG Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections SIG. The SIG Board members include Cathy Cakebread, SIG chair, M.A. Haseeb, Chris Schap and Judy Vales. We would like to invite you to join the SIG, volunteer to assist with various SIG operations and also to offer suggestions regarding specific topic areas that you would be interested in seeing covered by the SIG. The OAUG Welcomes New Demantra SIG
The OAUG is pleased to announce the formation of the Demantra SIG. This SIG will focus on topics and issues of interest to the Demantra user community. The SIG leaders include Jim Wilson with Innowave Technology, Kedar Kulkarni with VTech Communications and Donna Rosentrater with Welch Foods.

The program will feature a series of Web conferences sponsored by Oracle and will be held during OAUG Community Thursdays. A number of partners have expressed interested in the Siebel Star Partner Program (MS Word file). Rodney Johnson, OAUG director, global alliances and partner programs, will be working on the marketing plans with these companies to evolve a strategy that is beneficial to the Siebel community.
