PeopleSoft Announces Compliance with CyberSource Upgrade to Payment Systems

If your organization processes credit card transactions from PeopleSoft applications, you may be doing so through the use of CyberSource Payment Services. CyberSource Payment Services are used to provide fast, reliable, and secure payment processing and to simplify the process of electronic payments.

Recently, CyberSource announced two changes to its Payment Services. These changes are critical and required to keep pace with the demanding needs of electronic payments. They are:

Security Enhancement: PCI Compatible Client

This upgrade provides you with important features to help you achieve and maintain PCI certification, as required by Visa and MasterCard. Specifically, this upgraded client will mask secure data in all appropriate fields, as required for PCI security compliance. In addition to the security features, the new client provides an improved “e-Cert” upgrade process and eliminates duplicate request ID issues.

New API Field: Request Token

CyberSource has released a new API field, called the “Request Token.” This is a single API field that requires minimal changes to your systems, but provides important and valuable upgrades to your online processing with CyberSource. By implementing the Request Token you will reduce transaction errors, increase your transaction success rate and reduce back-office costs via use of improved, consolidated reporting.

Compliance with the PCI Compatible Client requires only a download and install from CyberSource, but the Request Token requires changes to the PeopleSoft products to support the new API.

In the early June timeframe, PeopleSoft will make available a PeopleTools standalone fix that supports the new Request Token changes for the 8.x and 8.4x codelines. Within 30 days following the June posting, Application Bundles will also be posted for each of the impacted product lines.
